There were some distinct common denominators emanating from Friday’s Jets rookie minicamp, the first time their first-year players gathered together on the field since last month’s NFL draft and free agent signings.

There was a fresh exuberance about the three offensive draft picks the team made available to reporters after the practice, held indoors because of the wet weather outside.

There, too, was a feel that these youngsters with potential to be cornerstones of a franchise starved for success have little idea or care about the fact the Jets have gone 14 years without a playoff berth and are considered a losing franchise until proven otherwise.

Armand Membou, the right tackle out of Missouri the Jets selected seventh overall, was first into the interview room.
