Last year, Jonquel Jones approached Liberty general manager Jonathan Kolb with an idea.
When Jones was with the Sun, she invited her young nephew, David Adderly, to stay with her for a few weeks. But with David now older and interested in potentially studying sports management in college, Jones was wondering whether it would be possible for him to have some sort of internship with the Liberty this season.
Kolb didn’t think twice.
“We take a lot of pride in creating a family culture, and what better way to further that than to bring in an actual family member of one of our players,” Kolb said. “Little did I know at the time what a gift we would be getting in return.”
