The most disturbing development of Week 1 for the Jets did not occur at MetLife Stadium, and had nothing to do with the Ravens or the players on the Jets roster.
No, the most troubling thing to watch for the Jets this week came in the opening game on Thursday night in Los Angeles, where Bills quarterback Josh Allen made his case as the best quarterback in the NFL. The only real argument right now is whether it is him or Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs. Everyone else is fighting for bronze.
Allen shone in his season debut, going 26 of 31 for 297 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-10 win over the defending champion Rams. Even two interceptions could not take away from Allen’s big night.
For the Jets and their fans, this is all too familiar. For 20 years they had to live with Tom Brady being in the division and facing him twice a year. Before that, it was Dan Marino on the Dolphins twice a year.
