It isn’t fair, of course, but fairness has never been part of the equation when you are trying to establish, maintain or define a legacy. Look at it as the way noted football poet Bruce Springsteen once explained such things: 

Poor men want to be rich. 

Rich men want to be king. 

And the king ain’t satisfied
