Keith Hernandez is waiting in line at the drive-through. It’s morning, and as he waits, he’s on the phone discussing his season in the SNY booth.
The locale for Hernandez is perfect, given the first words he utters when asked about 2021.
“It’s been a trying year as far as I have been tired,” Hernandez said. “I have had to drink a lot more coffee. Usually, I drink one coffee at 5 o’clock, before a game, but I just never realized how the road games break up my drive. I’ve just been exhausted, and in the second half of the season, I have gotten tired. I’ve had to drink a lot more coffee.”
