Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett enjoyed some time away from the field Saturday for a night out with his fiancée, Amy Paternoster.
The future newlyweds took in a Kenny Chesney concert at Heinz Field, with Paternoster quipping on Instagram, “Not my first time watching Kenny play at Heinz Field on a Saturday.”
Pickett, who previously played for the University of Pittsburgh before being drafted by the Steelers, cheekily replied, “How’d I do.”

Pickett, the 20th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has had a busy few weeks between OTAs and mandatory minicamp, which began Tuesday. He’s been practicing alongside fellow Pittsburgh quarterbacks Mitch Trubisky, Mason Rudolph, and Chris Oladokun, a fellow rookie.
Though the 2022 season is still months away, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin previously said that Pickett, a former Heisman Trophy finalist, “has a chance” to be the team’s Week 1 starter.

AP“It was two things that really attracted us to him from a floor standpoint,” Tomlin said of the 24-year-old quarterback. “We thought he had pro-level anticipation. We thought he had pro-level accuracy. Oftentimes, those are two variables that really require a lot of adjustment from a quarterbacking standpoint. We felt he came ready-made in those ways. Hopefully, that’s an asset to him in terms of being able to compete and being ready, if his performance dictates it.”
The Steelers’ mandatory minicamp concludes Thursday before training camp opens in late July.
