There’s no sense going to Texas to visit San Antonio and ignoring Dallas. So Jason Kidd, who’ll visit the Spurs Sunday and Monday during his free-agent tour, will accommodate Mavs owner Mark Cuban on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. While many teams have contacted Kidd’s camp, the Spurs, Mavs and Nets are the main contenders.

Nets president Rod Thorn said the next move is Kidd’s. A formal offer has not been made, but it is clear Kidd would get the maximum – a six-year deal at roughly $99.225 million – from the Nets. “Money is not an issue,” Thorn said, noting he’ll talk again about specifics “when they get back” from touring Texas.

“A number of teams have called,” said Kidd’s agent, Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management. “In the end, you’re only going to consider a few of the teams.”
