While the Knicks still have heavy interest in trading for or signing free agent Glen Rice, their desire for 6-10 free agent Dickey Simpkins appears to be waning.

Simpkins, who can give the Knicks depth up front, can be had for the $2.25 million exception. But the Knicks are holding out hope that a desperate Rice can be had for that price too. The Knicks have kept in contact with Simpkins’ reps all week but have yet to make a formal offer.
