Carmine Colasanto isn’t overly excited about how his team has played.
“We’re still a long way from being a good football team,” said Lehman’s coach. “We’re doing things that you can’t do if you want to have a good season.”
They have committed too many turnovers, but the Lions, who reached the PSAL championship game last December, seem well on their way to making another run. Lehman (4-0) hasn’t lost as it heads into today’s home game against Wagner, which will be televised on the YES Network at 1 p.m.
And if Courtney Mitchell continues to run the ball the way he has so far, Lehman could hand the Falcons their second defeat of the season.
Prediction: Lehman 20, Wagner 14.
Brooklyn Tech at Sheepshead Bay, noon:
The Engineers are 3-0 in the PSAL, but haven’t faced anyone as tough as Sheepshead, the defending champs.
Prediction: Sheepshead Bay 20, Brooklyn Tech 8.
Delbarton (NJ) at Poly Prep, 1:30:
The Blue Devils test themselves against one of Jersey’s top teams.
Prediction: Delbarton 30, Poly Prep 20.
Kellenberg vs. Mount St. Michael, at Hofstra, tomorrow, 1:30: Mount looks to rebound from last week’s loss to St. Anthony’s. Prediction: Mount 22, Kellenberg 20.
Fort Hamilton at New Utrecht, today, 1:00: Fort Hamilton looks to extend its surprising undefeated season. Prediction: Fort Hamilton 22, New Utrecht 6.
