HIGHLIGHTS: Defeated four ranked teams – N.C. State, West Virginia, Pitt and Syracuse. Three of those wins came on the road.

LOWLIGHTS: Lost to UConn and Duke – both No. 1 at the time – by a total of 95 points. Also lost to bottomfeeders Richmond, Northwestern and DePaul.

TEAM: Iona Gaels.

RECORD: 23-7, 13-5 MAAC.

ONES TO WATCH: Steve Burtt, Sr., G (25.2 ppg; 3.4 rpg); Ricky Soliver, Sr., G (16.2 ppg; 4.4 apg).

HIGHLIGHTS: Won three games in three days to win the league title after losing the regular-season crown to Manhattan. Averaged 86.6 points in those victories.

LOWLIGHTS: Lost to inferior MAAC teams St. Peter’s, Marist and Siena, all at home.

TEAM: Monmouth Hawks.

HIGHLIGHTS: Won five of last six games, including 49-48 victory over FDU in NEC title game … Stifled Princeton in a 41-21 victory Dec. 14.

LOWLIGHTS: Thanks in part to a host of suspensions, the Hawks lost seven of the season’s first eight games.

TEAM: Albany Great Danes.

ONES TO WATCH: Jamar Wilson, Jr., G (17.7 ppg; 5 rpg); Levi Levine, Sr., F (7.5 ppg; 3.7 rpg).

HIGHLIGHTS: Won final four games and claimed first America East title … Won eight straight between Dec. 20-Jan. 14.

LOWLIGHTS: Danes were 1-5 – with their lone win over Oakland – through Dec. 3 and were 2-6 on Dec. 17.

HIGHLIGHTS: Extended the nation’s second longest home winning streak to 20 games … Won 12 of the last 14 and advanced to CAA title game.

LOWLIGHTS: Lost to inferior CAA teams Towson and Northeastern on the road by a total of 23 points.
