Look, what can I say? My tastes tend to be simple. Sometimes I just prefer a double-stack smash from Smashburger than a steak from Peter Luger’s. I’ll always go with a banana split over an apple-cognac soufflé.

“A hot dog at the ballpark,” Humphrey Bogart once said, “is better than a steak at the Ritz.”

(Yes, that’s Bogey’s second-straight appearance in “Open Mike,” and I’ll happily keep that streak alive as long as I can. We still have all of “Casablanca” to aggregate.)
