I’ll be with you in a second. I’m over here, counting my blessings.

With the early encouragement of my parents, I figure I’ve sowed what I’ve reaped. That gave me an unfair advantage? Made me an oppressor? An “-ist” (racist, fascist, sexist, extremist, fascist, journalist)?

Much of sensible America seems fed up with well-intended but wildly misconceived hire-by-hope policies that leave even its beneficiaries diminished by self-doubt. Were they selected then promoted for reasons other than their proven ability and drive to succeed?

Could there be any burden heavier to shoulder than the persistent self-doubt of having succeeded not through effort and determination but DEI legislation and policies most now realize leave us all diminished by legitimate institutionalized suspicion?
