A “devastated” Nick Kyrgios responded Wednesday to girlfriend Costeen Hatzi’s post-match tribute after the Australian fell to Russia’s Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinal of the 2022 U.S. Open.
Hatzi, who has been dating the controversial tennis star for the past several months, congratulated Kyrgios, 27, on an “amazing season,” which included an appearance at the Wimbledon final in July.
“What an amazing season @k1ngkyrg1os,” the 22-year-old influencer posted on her Instagram Story. “You’ve made everyone proud. I love you so much.”

In response to Costeen Hatzi’s Instagram Story, Nick Kyrgios wrote, “Devastated.” InstagramKyrgios, who lost to Khachanov in five sets, responded, “Devastated 😒.”
The three-hour and 39-minute match at Arthur Ashe Stadium wasn’t without Kyrgios’ highly publicized theatrics as the athlete slammed and smashed two rackets on the court. A short time later, Kyrgios praised his opponent in a press conference.
“I’m obviously devastated,” Kyrgios said. “But all credit to Karen. He’s a fighter. He’s a warrior. I thought he served really good today. Honestly probably the best server I played this tournament, to be honest, the way he was hitting his spots under pressure.”

Kyrgios’ run at this year’s U.S. Open has been a rollercoaster. Heh as leaned on Hatzi for support. Moments after he defeated the top-seeded Daniil Medvedev on Sunday, Kyrgios gave Hatzi a special shoutout.

Kyrgios and Hatzi went public with their relationship late last year following his split from Chiara Passari. Kyrgios has been accused of assaulting Passari stemming from a 2021 incident.
