TORONTO – The question was put to Charles Oakley regarding Vince Carter’s play.

“We lost, so we all performed bad,” Oakley said.

And that would include Oakley, who gave effort but not a whole heckuva lot in the way of productive numbers. The veteran bruiser, who has been the most outspoken player in the series with critiques of both sides, scored nine points on 4-of-6 shooting, but grabbed just four rebounds while committing five turnovers in 37 minutes.

“I made too many turnovers but when you lose a game it don’t matter. It’s a team effort. We didn’t do the things we did in Game 2 and it cost us,” Oakley said. “The things we did in Game 2 we went away from. They didn’t have Marcus [Camby] and we didn’t attack the basket enough. On defense, we broke down in some assignments and it hurt us.”
