France star forward Ousmane Dembélé made FIFA World Cup history during his team’s June 26 group-stage contest against Norway.

The reigning Ballon d’Or winner scored three goals in the first half of Friday’s game. This marks the first time a player has scored a first-half hat trick in the World Cup since 1994, which is coincidentally the last time that a World Cup was played in the United States.

Dembélé’s wife, Rima Edbouche Dembélé, wasted no time celebrating her husband’s historic World Cup goals Friday. While she doesn’t appear to be at the France vs. Norway game in person, she posted a photo of her television screen to her Instagram Story after her husband scored his third goal.

The photo showed Dembélé staring down the camera while pointing to the vein in his arm, indicating that he has ice in his veins. The post didn’t have any caption and didn’t need one to finalize the flex.

Ousmane and Rima were married in December 2021 and had a daughter together in 2022. Though Rima prefers to stay out of the spotlight, she often appears by his side during some of the biggest moments of his career.

It will be interesting to see whether Rima appears at the 2026 World Cup at any point, especially if France makes it to the final games of the tournament.

Regardless, it’s clear that Ousmane knows that he has his wife’s support and perhaps that’s propelling him to perform at the elite level fans are seeing from him Friday.
