The deadline for preliminary bids for the Jets passed Friday at 5 p.m. and nearly two dozen offers were received, according to industry sources.

Goldman Sachs, which is handling the sale of the team, is expected to review the preliminary bids over the next couple of weeks and narrow the field to a half dozen or so before a second round of more serious negotiations begin.

The second round, including an NFL review period, and a possible third round, if necessary, can last until after the Super Bowl.
