Toronto coach Pat Quinn isn’t happy the Devils were taking liberties in the Leafs’ crease in the teams’ two Meadowlands meetings last month.

”They ran our goalie a minimum of three times,” said Quinn, whose Leafs host the Devils tonight at Air Canada Centre.

”The great Islander teams did that all the time, but if the other team tried it [goalie] Billy Smith would cut their legs off.”

The Devils didn’t know it at the time, but they played their last game at Maple Leaf Gardens Dec. 13, 1997 – a 3-0 victory over Toronto. The Devils visit Toronto for the first time this season and the old barn is already closed – three weeks ago. Toronto is 2-0-1 in the new arena.
