Dylan Garand borrowed Vladislav Gavrikov’s signature hang-the-phone-up celebration at the end of his third NHL start Wednesday night at Tampa Bay, signifying his disconnection from his AHL career.

The Rangers should follow suit and decline the call, coming from inside the house, that has consistently advised roadblocks for their youth. 

There should be zero questions from anybody about who is the No. 2 goalie to Igor Shesterkin next season. 

“I never want to go back to the American [Hockey] League, honestly,” Garand said after finishing his first NHL stint with 91 saves on the 96 shots he saw over his three games. “I’m so hungry to be here. I want to be in this league and a part of this organization. There’s nothing else like it. It’s the best league in the world. It’s been a great taste. And definitely going in the summer, very motivated to be back here.”
