This week, The Post is running a series delving into the Rangers’ development program. Part I addressed the organizational infrastructure. The second part featured director of player development Jed Ortmeyer’s evaluations of the top prospects in the organization.

So let’s pick up where Part II left off and get into a few more prospects who are a little further away from making the Garden their professional home.

Morgan Barron, the 23-year-old forward out of Cornell has 12 points (8-4) in 19 games for the AHL Wolf Pack and is the likely next-man-up when a reinforcement up front is needed in New York.

“He’s playing in all situations, getting first-line minutes, playing on the power play and penalty kill, and handling that responsibility extremely well,” Ortmeyer said. “That’s what you want. I know he wants to be in New York and he’s not happy he didn’t make the team, but he’s hungry and is going to put in the effort and do whatever it takes to get there. I think there’s real value in what he’s experiencing now.
