Mickey Rubens, driving the Larry Pepe-owned and Rich Crouch-trained Da Bomb (aka Mr Attitude), went wire to wire in the third annual New York Post Pace yesterday afternoon at Monticello Raceway.

Rubens, a page production artist, held off a strong challenge at the half from handicapper/racing writer Anthony Stabile on the way to an easy three-length victory in 2:17. Stabile finished second, with financial columnist John Crudele third and associate editorial page editor Barbra Bateman fourth.
