Ryan Lochte’s ex-wife hinted that “betrayal” played a role in her split with the retired swimmer, but Lochte’s new girlfriend is having none of it.
Kayla Rae Reid, Lochte’s estranged wife, raised suspicions about what caused the couple’s split after writing, “Sometimes God allows the betrayal…because it leads to the breakthrough,” in a June 27 Instagram post.

“It’s okay to be so happy that your heart could explode out of your chest and you want to shout it from the rooftops,” Gillihan wrote on her private Instagram account, according to TMZ Sports. “If you’ve felt it, you know this to be true.
“We would not be here if we had anything to hide or if there had been any betrayal that occurred along the way. This little goofball came into my life patiently, sincerely, and honestly. I am choosing him. ♥️ @ryanlochte.”

The post features multiple photos of Lochte and Gillihan cozied up together, and celebrating the holiday with other members of Lochte’s family.
Lochte and Reid, a 34-year-old realtor and former Playboy model, split last month after seven years of marriage.

In Reid’s June 27 Instagram post, she also wrote: “Most people have no idea what I’ve endured. Ignore their opinions. Truth always reveals itself.
