PORTRUSH, Northern Ireland — Ryan Peake probably fancied he’d have been to Royal Portrush for a British Open a lot sooner than this week. 

But life happens. 

Mistakes happen. 

And Peake, a 32-year-old Aussie who was enjoying a decorated amateur career during which he played on teams with 2022 British Open champion Cam Smith among other now-accomplished pros, made his share of them.
