Scott Morrow entered his first Rangers rookie camp on the heels of five playoff games against the back-to-back Stanley Cup champions, the Panthers, in the Eastern Conference Final last season with the Hurricanes.

Just over a month later, the 22-year-old defenseman was answering a phone call from Rangers president and general manager Chris Drury informing him that he had been traded to New York.

Morrow had just wrapped up his first professional season with the organization that drafted him 40th overall in 2021, when the native of Darien, Conn., was essentially headed back home.

As one of just three players in Tarrytown this week with NHL experience, Morrow is on a short list of rookies with a legitimate chance to make the Blueshirts roster out of training camp.
