SAN ANTONIO — OK, so maybe all the fears and angst couldn’t be alleviated by the Knicks’ short workout Tuesday on the Spurs’ court.

But the worst fears are gone.

Wearing a black wrap on his fractured hand, the Knicks center handled the ball comfortably and hoisted jump shots without any obvious hiccups or hindrance during practice warmups Tuesday. He also didn’t touch the rims on his weave-drill dunks — which certainly leaves concerns Robinson can’t absorb hard contact — but, again, this is better than some of the alternatives we envisioned like an utterly incapacitated right hand or Captain Hook in uniform.

For about a week, Robinson’s fracture has been shrouded in mystery and intrigue, the result of an injury with no explanation of origin or severity from the Knicks.
