The Mercer transfer committed to St. John’s on Monday morning, providing backcourt depth. The former four-star recruit has a familiar name — his father, Kyle Cuffe Sr., also played for the Johnnies from 2000-04. The two will become the third father-son combination to play for St. John’s, joining Gerry and Tom Calabrese and Neil and “Fuzzy” Levane.

“He will help solidify our great backcourt,” Pitino said.
