Super Bowl weekend finally has arrived, and for many, the X’s and O’s often take a back seat to all of the peripheral components surrounding the big game.

Some of us still prefer what actually will happen on the field between the Rams and the Bengals, but gamblers, partygoers, casual fans, children and those who will be watching their first NFL game of the season clearly might have varying reasons to tune in before and during a day chock full of programming on NBC and various other networks and platforms.

Wherever you fall on that spectrum, here is a primer on much of the pigskin-related-and-unrelated ephemera coming your way for Super Bowl 2022. For those who’ve gone digital with their TV consumption, the game also will be streamed live on NBC’s Peacock service.
