Karrion Kross is a curious case now.

He and his wife Scarlett’s contract with WWE officially ran out on Aug. 10 as he was riding an organic wave of fan support.

That same day, the 40-year-old Kross released the second part of his YouTube documentary, which showed him professing his desire to finish his career with the company while detailing some of the issues he faced during the run-up to SummerSlam.

He said he was told my people in WWE not to embrace the groundswell of support behind him as his character was a heel on TV. Kross discussed the people in the company’s paranoia that fans were going to loudly cheer him and not Sami Zayn during their Crown Jewel match, as well as his frustration with his contract negotiations.
