On Saturday, David Wright’s No. 5 will be unveiled atop Citi Field with the rest of the array of retired Mets numbers — 14, 16, 17, 18, 24, 31, 36 and 41 — and when that happens he’ll be the 89th athlete to be so honored among the 10 major professional teams in New York (the Liberty have yet to bestow such an honor).

Setting aside Jackie Robinson (whose 42 is retired by all 30 major league baseball teams) and Bill Russell (similarly honored by all 30 NBA teams), that’s rarefied New York air that Wright’s about to occupy. Here’s a look at the others who’ve received the same recognition.

1: Ray Flaherty, Giants; Ed Giacomin, Rangers; Billy Martin, Yankees.

2: Derek Jeter, Yankees; Brian Leetch, Rangers.
