Until the inevitable injuries hit — probably a question of when (or how many), not if — the Yankees are set to open camp in Tampa next week with their projected Opening Day roster mostly set.

Realistically, barring those injuries (or another signing or trade), the only openings up for grabs at this point are probably the last few bullpen spots.

But that does not mean there won’t still be some intrigue in camp with players currently on the outside looking in at the big league roster — especially during a spring in which the Yankees will have a chunk of players missing for a to-be-determined period of time to participate in the World Baseball Classic.

That means there are more Grapefruit League innings to be filled by minor leaguers, giving them a chance to make an impression whether or not they have an outside shot of making the team out of camp.
