There are two baseball teams in New York that are going through it a little right now. The past two weeks have been extraordinary slogs for both of them, and there is still plenty of baseball season left to make full recoveries. They each built enough of a cushion across 2 ½ months to stay in play.

And they each got a wee bit healthier Wednesday night, the Yankees winning 7-1 in Cincinnati, the Mets beating the Braves 7-3 at Citi Field. They are both case studies in the endless mysteries of the long season. There is every reason to think that across the 162, they’ll both wind up fine.

But if you had to pick just one that will surely halt the rising tide and fully recover, and be ready to report for duty in October, which would you select?

It says here: the Yankees.
