The Jets’ struggles over the past decade are evident in many ways. Here is another one: Another head coach hiring cycle is nearly complete and no Jets assistant was interviewed for any of the openings.

It has been a decade since a Jets assistant coach received a head coaching interview from another team. That was Brian Schottenheimer, who interviewed with the Jaguars in 2012. Right after he did not get that job, the Jets fired him as their offensive coordinator.

Since then, there have not been any slips submitted to the NFL for permission to interview their coaches.
