Yet again, I’m not convinced that the sports media accurately reflect the interest level of sports fans. This Pro Football Hall of Fame vote excluding Bill Belichick has caused outcry and outrage, but on behalf of whom?

I don’t vote for such awards. Never have, never will. I don’t want to be in a position to defend or dissent with the votes of others. I’ve enough trouble with “That’s all we’ve got?” candidates in November.

But I wouldn’t have voted for Belichick.

Nothing to do with cheating accusations, his reliance on Tom Brady, his relentlessly rude and self-entitled mistreatment of sportswriters, nor his choice of a dubious-intentioned, post-cheerleader, make-sure-you-shoot-my-cleavage and career opportunist as his, almost in the literal sense, “girl friend,” 48 years his junior.
