After a one-year respite, it remains true that no one does disaster quite like the Knicks.

Tom Thibodeau, Julius Randle and the Knicks earned their accolades in halting a seven-year playoff drought, but little has gone right since their five-game ouster in the first round by the Hawks last spring.

It’s impossible now to completely dismiss the recent rumblings about the reigning NBA Coach of the Year’s job security entering the All-Star break. Thibodeau’s team coughed up a 28-point lead in the first half and an 18-point cushion in the fourth quarter on the Garden floor Wednesday night in a stunning 111-106 loss to a depleted Nets team playing without injured Kevin Durant, unvaccinated Kyrie Irving and newly acquired Ben Simmons.
