Luis Flores, a 6-foot-2 senior guard from Norman Thomas High in Manhattan, signed a letter of intent with Rutgers yesterday.

“I went there for a couple games and I love the RAC,” Flores said yesterday, referring to Rutgers’ home playing facility. “I want to be a part of it.”

Flores, a Post first-team all-PSAL selection, averaged 35 points, six rebounds and six steals this season. Academically, he carries an 83 average and has met NCAA requirements to play next season.

In choosing Rutgers, Flores said he liked its coach, Kevin Bannon.

“I feel Coach Bannon can help me reach my potential on and off the court,” he said.

In addition, Flores said he was eager to play with Jeff Greer, who will be a Rutgers junior next season. Flores and Greer grew up together in Washington Heights.
