BOSTON – Frederic Weis, the Knicks’ 7-2 first round draft pick, went home to France yesterday with the team’s blessing to attend to previous obligations with the French National team.

“He was hoping to play [last night] but the timing of his flight was off. He offered to play a half,” said Jeff Van Gundy.

In four games, Weis, who is due back in two weeks, played a total of 90 minutes and shot .444 (8-of-18). He averaged 4.5 points, 3.3 rebounds – and 4.8 fouls.
