A hole in the back end of the defense was filled with the signing of Jevon Holland, who arrived from the Dolphins as a strong player and leader.

He will step directly into a prominent starting role created when Jason Pinnock was not pursued in free agency.

Holland will team with Tyler Nubin, who as a rookie started the first 13 games before going down with an ankle injury that required surgery.

For three seasons, Dane Bolton has not been able to hold onto a starting job and he returns again in a reserve role.
