It still is possible he joins the rarefied air of Anthony Lynn or Dick Jauron come January’s hiring cycle, but his best-case scenario might be that time shines on him again down the road as it did for Dan Campbell.

The Giants probably wouldn’t mind if he reverted to his old responsibilities, like Terry Robiskie or John Fassel, but Kafka might prefer the clean break afforded to Todd Bowles, Perry Fewell and Pat Shurmur.
