INDIANAPOLIS — The Giants were scheduled to be in Seattle the first week of October and so it made sense for Joe Schoen to be scouting on the West Coast that weekend.
He wanted to get a look at Miami quarterback Cam Ward, and so he attended the game against California in Berkeley.
Schoen, the Giants general manager, saw Ward toss a pick-six interception as Miami fell behind 35-10.
Then Schoen saw Ward lead the Hurricanes to touchdowns on four consecutive drives in a wild 39-38 victory.
