Imagine interviewing for your next job, getting a turn to ask questions of the boss and then saying, “Why should I trust you?”

Instead of feeling insulted, Giants co-owner John Mara should give extra consideration to any head coach candidate with the guts to be so forthright.

Once the Giants settle on a general manager later this week and turn their attention to searching for a head coach, the prospective candidates will want to know if the internal patience really exists to rebuild the right way — or if the expectation is a quick fix. Some coaches around the league (not those on the interview circuit) expressed skepticism about the Giants’ stomach for more growing pains during conversations with The Post.
