Let’s face it, the Jets and the Giants mostly have been terrible for more than a decade, seemingly bottoming out together with both teams picking in the top three of the NFL Draft in 2018.

Yet, this once-promising season somehow has devolved into the worst and most distressing joint campaign of all for the two local football teams — and that’s before either team has reached its bye weekend.

Among a plethora of other personnel issues for both sides, neither the Jets nor the Giants appear to have a quarterback of the future — or, really, the present — on the roster.

Daniel Jones and Aaron Rodgers have appeared healthy enough while attempting returns from season-ending injuries last year, but as former Giants and Jets head coach Bill Parcells famously said, you are what your record says you are.
