Could the Nets have the NBA’s top scorer and its worst record?
The question has been asked by both Brooklyn diehards and doubters around the league, dripping with snark. What will be higher this coming season: Cam Thomas’ scoring average or the Nets’ win total.
It’s a valid question.
Considering Brooklyn’s commitment to a rebuild — read: tank — the Nets will surely struggle. They’re priced to be the worst team in the NBA this coming season, with most sportsbooks setting an over/under of just 19.5 wins. Woefully short on offensive firepower with Mikal Bridges gone, the Nets will expect — no, make that need — Thomas to score far more than he has before in his three-year career.
