Anthony Volpe finished his rookie season with a .666 OPS.

Through the weekend — through 1,382 career plate appearances — Volpe had a .666 OPS.

The devil is in the details of that number. Notably, the more things change, the more Volpe stays the same.

He was a strong defender, fine baserunner and had excellent durability as a rookie with underwhelming offensive results, especially relative to expectations. Or pretty much what he is again now in Year 3.
