It looks like Jay Wright’s New York connections have paid off again for the new Villanova coach.
Bishop Loughlin forward Curtis Sumpter, who was named to The Post’s All CHSAA second team after his junior season, will hold a press conference today to announce his college decision. Sources say that choice will be Villanova, although UConn has made a late charge at the 6-foot-7 Sumpter. North Carolina and St. John’s have also been in the hunt Sumpter, who has had an excellent summer.
Wright was the head coach at Hofstra and became adept at recruiting New York players and has already gotten St. Raymond’s point guard, Allan Ray, to join him with the Wildcats.
