Backlash did its job, even if it won’t go down on the higher end of WWE’s premium live events.

Saturday night in St. Louis was about giving one final quality showing between John Cena and Randy Orton and advance WWE’s stories toward a busy summer with three PLEs — including a two-night SummerSlam, a “Saturday Night’s Main Event” and “Worlds Collide” with newly acquired AAA.

Backlash, which did include a highly anticipated debut, was an entertaining show that did enough to keep the ball rolling for Triple H and Co..
