BALTIMORE — Paul Goldschmidt turned 38 just over a week ago and is approaching the end of his 15th major league season. 

He has been named to seven All-Star teams and won the National League MVP in 2022 with St. Louis.

But in five trips to the postseason, Goldschmidt has yet to make it to the World Series and he’s realistic enough to know there might not be many more chances to get there. 

“I’m human, so of course I think about the future, and at this point, it’s unknown,’’ Goldschmidt said before the Yankees lost to the Orioles, 4-2. “But I have to focus on this year. There will be time to think about what happens next year, but right now, I’m giving everything I can to this team.”
