It is Juan Soto’s turn now to accept the role as the protagonist in this year’s first installment of the Subway Series.

The $765 million man returns to The Bronx with the Mets for his first games against the Yankees since bolting to Queens via free agency last winter.

“I tried to do my part, but for the most part let him make his decision,” Aaron Judge told The Post this week. “I’m excited to see him.”

The annual interleague clashes between the two New York clubs — and especially during an unforgettable matchup in the 2000 World Series — have featured plenty of big stars and lesser names emerging front and center since the Mets first defeated the Yanks behind unheralded pitcher Dave Mlicki at Yankee Stadium on June 16, 1997.
