NFL: Britt in more trouble

Tennessee receiver Kenny Britt was arrested again in New Jersey, a day after appearing in court on traffic charges. Police say the former Rutgers star was arrested at a Hoboken car wash Wednesday and charged with resisting arrest after two plainclothes officers suspected he was carrying marijuana. Britt pleaded guilty Tuesday to separate motor vehicle violations related to an April arrest on speeding charges in Bayonne.

COLLEGE: Pryor: No CFL

Terrelle Pryor, the former Ohio State quarterback who announced he would not return for his senior season in the wake of an NCAA suspension and investigation, is not interested in playing in the Canadian Football League, said his attorney. The Saskatchewan Roughriders own the CFL negotiating rights to Pryor and had extended him a tentative offer.

NBA: A.I. eyes comeback

Four-time NBA scoring champ Allen Iverson hopes to return to the NBA. Iverson, 36, played with Turkish club Besiktas last season after a lack of NBA interest forced him to seek employment elsewhere.

* Former NBA All-Star Mike Mitchell, who played 10 seasons for the Cavaliers and Spurs, has died from cancer. He was 55.

GOLF: Mathis tops St. Jude

David Mathis matched his best round ever on the PGA Tour, shooting a 5-under 65 yesterday to grab the lead at the St. Jude Classic. Robert Karlsson shot a 66 and was tied with John Merrick, Kris Blanks, Colt Knost and Kevin Kisner.

ETC: Mexicans suspended

PSV Eindhoven defender Francisco Rodiguez was among five players dropped from Mexico’s Gold Cup squad after testing positive for a banned susbstance, results that the Mexican football federation is blaming on contaminated food.
