MLS: Red Bulls gain tie
Joel Lindpere’s 63rd-minute goal allowed the Red Bulls to tie the Chicago Fire 2-2 last night in Harrison, N.J. and move into third place in the Eastern Conference by themselves.
The Red Bulls (6-6-13) have not won since June 6. But the tie gave them 31 points, one better than Sporting Kansas City.
WNBA: Fever top Liberty
Tamika Catchings tied a career high with 32 points and the Indiana Fever beat the Liberty 82-71 in Indianapolis.
Cappie Pondexter scored 30 points and Essence Carson added 16 for the Liberty (13-11), who have lost three of four.
NFL: Jackson back with Birds
