Boxing: Dawson tops Hopkins in rematch
Chad Dawson defeated Bernard Hopkins by a 12-round majority decision and won the WBC light heavyweight title last night in Atlantic City.
The 29-year-old Dawson (31-17, 17 KOs) had his TKO victory over Hopkins in October overturned and the decision was ruled a no-contest and the belt returned to Hopkins.
Now, at 47, Hopkins (52-6-2) may have fought his last fight.
NHL: Kings take Game 1 from Blues
Matt Greene scored shorthanded late in the second period for the lead and Jonathan Quick was strong in net throughout as the Kings beat the Blues 3-1 in the opener of a Western Conference semifinal series last night in St. Louis.
AUTOS: Busch wins at Richmond again
Kyle Busch capped a perfect weekend by winning the spring race at Richmond for the fourth consecutive year. The victory snaps a 22-race winless streak for Busch.
ETC.: Henry injured in Red Bulls’ win
Forward Thierry Henry left the Red Bulls’ 1-0 win over the Revolution at Red Bull Stadium after straining his right hamstring. Henry scored the game’s only goal.
Jason Dufner shot a 5-under 67 to take a two-stroke lead over Graham DeLaet after the third round of the Zurich Classic in Avondale, La.
Dufner is winless in 163 starts on the PGA Tour.
