BASEBALL: Longoria jolts Sox

In St. Petersburg, Evan Longoria‘s second homer of the game, a two-run shot off Takashi Saito with two outs in the bottom of the 13th inning, gave the Rays a 4-2 win over the Red Sox. Longoria also homered in the eighth to tie it at 2-all.

* Hank Aaron wants the list of players who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003 to be released. “I just wish that they would name them all and get it over with,” the former home run king said.

* In Pittsburgh, former Mets farmhand Yusmeiro Petit took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and the Diamondbacks beat the Pirates, 6-0.

* In Dayton, Ohio, a judge found minor leaguer Julio Castillo guilty of felonious assault causing serious physical injury for hurting a fan when he threw a baseball that went into the stands during an on-field melee last year.

FOOTBALL: Pack won’t rule out Vick

Packers general manager Ted Thompson didn’t rule out signing scandal-tainted quarterback Michael Vick. “We’re always looking to improve our team,” Thompson said.

* The agent for Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromartie confirmed that the team fined his client $2,500 for using Twitter to complain about the food at training camp.

* The Arena Football League is on the brink of folding and declaring bankruptcy. Players association exec James Guidry said that it “seems to be inevitable at this point.”

ETC: Liberty lose fifth in a row

In Auburn Hills, Mich., Deanna Nolan had 26 points and a career-high 14 rebounds as the Shock beat the Liberty, 76-64. Shameka Christon scored 14 points as the Liberty (6-13) lost their season-high fifth straight and second in a row since Anne Donovan replaced Pat Coyle as head coach.

* Kobe Bryant and the defending champion Lakers will host LeBron James‘ Cavaliers on Christmas, one of the highlights of the 2009-10 NBA schedule. It will be the fourth time in five years that Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal, who was traded to Cleveland this offseason, will meet on Dec. 25.

* Sharks forward Jeremy Roenick, 39, is expected to announce his retirement tomorrow.

* Formula One driver Felipe Massa left the hospital in Sao Paolo and is allowed to return to his home.
